Mike Baker
Involvement and Outreach Minister
"Hello, I'm Mike Baker, Involvement and Outreach Minister. My wife Carla and I started our work with Crieve Hall in August 2010 and we are thrilled to be able to work with such a great congregation. We met at Freed-Hardeman and married in 1983. We have twin sons, Jonathan and Joseph, who are both away at college. Jonathan is at Freed-Hardeman and Joseph is at Rowan County Technical College in Morehead, KY.
Before starting this role as Involvement and Outreach Minister I was a pulpit minister for 18 years serving churches in KY, GA, TN and TX. I have a degree in business management from Georgia State University and Bible degrees from Heritage Christian University and Freed-Hardeman University.
My focus at Crieve Hall will be to help everyone connect with the body of Christ and to help ensure that no one falls through the cracks. Additionally we will be looking at improved ways to reach out to our community with the message of the gospel. I can be reached at any time at 615-972-3601 or you can email me at mbaker@crievehall.org."

Albert Thweatt
Assistant Youth Minister
"Hello. My name is Albert Thweatt and I have been a member at Crieve Hall for 35 years (all my life!). I am an assistant to Tim Frizzell, helping with youth activities and also serve as the director of the HiSTEP program, which trains teenagers to be Bible class teachers. I received both my bachelors and masters degrees from Lipscomb University, and I teach 6th grade at David Lipscomb Campus School. I have been married to my wife, Susan since 2000 and we have two sons - Carter who was born in 2001, and Max who was born in 2004.
Crieve Hall has meant the world to me and I feel so blessed to be part of such a wonderful church family. I have a huge admiration for Tim and the great work he does. I feel that our youth are definitely being led in the right direction as they grow up here at Crieve Hall. I am especially proud of the HiSTEP program and the experience and training it offers our youth. Through this program they become better teachers, role models, and servants for Christ." Bill Watkins
Pulpit Minister
I was born in Georgia and raised in Tennessee. I am the son of a gospel preacher (James Watkins) and my brother (Alan) and I are both preachers. I married Beverly, the daughter of a preacher (Lynn Cook), and have been married 37 years. We have 5 children, 2 boys (Jim and Michael) and 3 girls (Tiffany, Angela, and Rachel), and fifteen grandchildren.
I was formally educated at Freed-HardemanUniversity, DavidLipscombUniversity, Southern Christian University, and Florida International University. I was really educated through growing up with 3 siblings; preaching at churches in Florida, Tennessee, Alabama, and Texas; learning from my parents and parents-in-law; observing my wife's willingness and wisdom; and attempting to raise five remarkable and remarkably different children.
I have been one of the ministers of the Crieve Hall Church of Christ since March 6, 2005. I love being with my family and working with the church. Preaching is not my career. Like being a husband and a father, it is my life-choice and my joy." Click here to email Bill.
