WinGS Women's Ministry

 

The ladies of the Crieve Hall Church of Christ have a history of serving others. “WinGS” organizes the ladies activities for better communication and coordination. Following are descriptions of some of the service opportunities for ladies of our congregation. If you would like to get involved in any of these groups, contact the lady noted or complete one of the pink WinGS brochures and place it in the WinGS box at the ladies bulletin board.

 

Absentee Visitation

Encouarging absentee sisters by by visiting, calling, or sending a card to those who have been absent from the worship services.

Encouragement

Encourage sisters by sending cards or calling those who are mentioned in the announcements, classes, order of worship, or bulletin.  The occasions may include illness, sympathy, or congratulations on a birth or marriage.

Baptismal Assistants

Provide assistance in the women’s dressing room during a baptism, as well as monitor the condition of the dressing rooms on a rotation basis.

Flowers for the Building

Arrange and maintain flowers/plants in the building in specific locations and help in an annual silk plant cleaning.

Fruit Totes

Sewing bags to hold fruit arrangements to be delivered each Thursday to those who are in the hospital, have a new baby, a death in the family, or special requests.

Heart Warmers

Providing on-going contact with our shut-ins and semi shut-ins. Each participant keeps in contact with her shut-in by visits, calls, written notes, and brings to our attention any special needs that may arise.

Joyful Bread

Baking 8-16 mini loaves of  bread and tea bag to be taken to shut-ins, new members, absentees, and anyone who needs a visit

Ladies’ Retreats/Nights

Organizing and planning an overnight retreat and 3-4 nightly gatherings for the ladies of the congregation.

Lakeshore Ladies

Working in the beauty shop at Lakeshore once a month to wash and fix residents hair.

Lap Quilts

Cutting, sewing, tying, or binding quilts sent to those in nursing homes or shutin.

Martha’s Kitchen

“Deep” cleaning the main kitchen.

Meals for Moms

Providing at least 3 meals to mothers with new babies.

Missionary Guest House

Provding a welcoming home-away-from-home for visiting missionaries and their families.

Nursery Workers

Staffing the toddler/baby nurseries during the Sunday worship services to provide a safe environment for children, allowing parents to worship or train older siblings
